About the Photographer…

Chris Dawe’s interest in photography stems from many different influences in his life. He became interested in computers at the age of 14 in the early 1980’s. He quickly taught himself everything he could learn and soon found he knew as much as the teachers at that time. This quest continued into college where he pursued a Software Engineering degree.

Mr. Dawe also has a background in Martial Arts, where he studied much about the human body and its abilities. This included extensive training in Yoga which he still enjoys. To learn more about the body he traveled to Hawaii to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. He remained in Hawaii for 3 years where he practiced massage in a medical clinic.

More recently, Chris finished a 5-year career at Adobe Systems, where he used his computer knowledge to help develop the latest generation of desktop publishing software, Adobe InDesign. While there he quickly fell in love with Adobe’s Photoshop program and learned to manipulate photos in the modern digital darkroom.

After dabbling with traditional photography, it was only natural for Chris to pursue his artwork using the digital medium. He found that the instant feedback of digital cameras greatly accelerated his photography skills. Because he doesn’t need to worry about film costs, Chris can often be seen with his camera around town constantly honing his skills.
